How to block pop up ads on all browsers On 07:22<\/a> By Himanshu Naresh<\/a>Browser<\/a>, Chrome<\/a>, Firefox<\/a>, Internet Explorer<\/a>, Opera<\/a>, Pop-ups<\/a>, Safari<\/a>Pop-up ads more commonly known as pop-ups are \u00a0forms of online advertising which generally open a new web browser windows to display advertisements. The pop-ups are usually generated using the JavaScript and sometime using Adobe Flash. A hybrid of pop-up advertisement is pop-under advertisement which open the advertise under the current active window. Pop-under are hard to notice until the browser is closed. Sometime pop-ups contains important messages, but mostly they are annoying advertisement. Even worst in some cases they could be installer which silently install malware in your computer.
Nearly every browser now a days have a decent pop-up blocking functionality and a large number of plug-in and software are available to increase this functionality even further. In this post I will explain how you can block the pop-up ads in Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Internet Explorer and Safari. <\/p>\n

How to block pop-ups on Chrome<\/h2>\n

1. Open up the Settings<\/b> from the menu present on the top right corner in chrome.

2. Type pop-ups<\/b> inside the search box<\/b>. The Privacy setting<\/b> will appear, open up the Content Setting…<\/b> quite easy to notice with a yellow arrow box near it saying pop-ups.
<\/a>
3. Scroll down in Content settings to Pop-ups<\/b> (6th option) and select the radio button Do not allow any site to show pop-ups (recommended)<\/b>.
<\/a>
4. You can use the Manage exceptions.. <\/b>option of Pop-ups<\/b> if you want to allow some sites and block the other. If you want to allow all the sites to show pop-ups you can select\u00a0 Allow all sites to show pop-ups<\/b>.<\/p>\n

How to block pop-ups on Firefox <\/h2>\n

1. Open up the options<\/b> from the menu present on the top right corner in Firefox.

2.In Options<\/b> go to Content <\/b>and tick the box present near Block pop-up windows<\/b>. You can use Exceptions…<\/b> to add websites whose pop-ups you don’t want to block.

How to block pop-ups on Internet Explorer <\/h2>\n

1. Select Tools <\/b>from the top right corner in Internet Explorer and go to Pop-up Blocker(3rd one usually)\u00a0 and select the Pop-up Blocker Settings.<\/p>\n

2. From the drop down list of Blocking level <\/b>select High: Block all pop-ups<\/b>. Add the address of website whose pop-ups you don’t want to block in Address of website to allow:<\/b><\/p>\n

How to block pop-ups on Safari <\/h2>\n

1. Open Setting Menu\u00a0<\/b>from the top right corner in Safari and select the option Preferences<\/b>.

2. After opening up Preferences<\/b> go to Security<\/b> and check the option Block pop-up windows<\/b>. To enable pop-ups just uncheck this option.

How to block pop-ups on Opera<\/h2>\n

1. Open up the Setting<\/b> either by pressing Alt+p<\/b> or by selecting Setting<\/b> from Opera Menu<\/b> present at the top right corner with opera logo and name.
