There isn&#8217;t much to explain on this topic, so here are the steps that you&#8217;ll need to follow.<\/p>\n<h3>Steps to hide the drive via Command Prompt<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li> Click on start type cmd, right click on the program cmd and select run as administrator.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/ozsns.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/running-cmd-as-administrator.png\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"running cmd as admin\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/ozsns.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/running-cmd-as-administrator.png\" height=\"320\" title=\"running cmd as admin\" width=\"250\"\/><\/a><\/li>\n<li> Now type <b>diskpart<\/b> inside command prompt and press enter.<a href=\"https:\/\/ozsns.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/diskpart-command.png\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"executing diskpart command\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/ozsns.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/diskpart-command.png\" height=\"197\" title=\"executing diskpart command\" width=\"400\"\/><\/a><\/li>\n<li> Type <b>list volume<\/b>, on pressing enter a list of all the drives on your computer will appear in front of you.<\/li>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-czFNEHXra68\/U0IrZam1yVI\/AAAAAAAAADs\/n2UcrxS4WIg\/s1600\/list+volume.GIF\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\"><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/ozsns.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/listvolume.gif\"\/><\/a>list volume command execution<\/p>\n<li> You can use either the volume Ltr or number in the next command. For example , if I want to remove my drive F then I will type either <b>select volume F<\/b> or <b>select volume 5<\/b> and hit enter. After selecting the drive I will type another command\u00a0<b>remove letter F <\/b>and then press enter.<\/li>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/-xmVsgb-S3uc\/U0Ivr71RDKI\/AAAAAAAAAD4\/GQGbjXfQ_m4\/s1600\/removed+F.GIF\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\"><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/ozsns.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/removedF.gif\"\/><\/a>select volume and remove letter commands<\/p>\n<li> That&#8217;s it the drive F: is no longer  visible in explorer.<\/li>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ozsns.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/disk-after-execution-of-command.png\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Final Result\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/ozsns.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/disk-after-execution-of-command.png\" title=\"Final Result\"\/><\/a><br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-hYcaq8dqWY8\/U8AzPJcHXTI\/AAAAAAAAAeg\/AwNr4jsv_yE\/s1600\/hard-disk-look.png\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><br \/><\/a><\/ul>\n<h3> To make the drive visible again follow the following steps.<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li> Follow the first three steps up to list volume command as it is. Select the volume number of the drive you want to make visible again and type <b> select volume volume_letter<\/b>, since I want to make my drive F: to appear in the explorer I will type <b>select volume 5<\/b>. After selecting the drive type <b> assign letter F <\/b> (change F to your drive letter).<\/li>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/-2-YiB3eh-5Y\/U0Iy_9kjhYI\/AAAAAAAAAEM\/H9tDqQSDpms\/s1600\/assign+F.GIF\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\"><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/ozsns.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/assignF.gif\"\/><\/a>select volume and assign letter commands<\/p>\n<li> My hidden drive is back in the explorer.<a href=\"https:\/\/ozsns.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/hard-disk-look.png\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Hidden Drive is Visibile Again\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/ozsns.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/hard-disk-look.png\" title=\"Hidden Drive is Visibile Again\"\/><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Steps to hide the drive via Windows Registry Editor<\/h3>\n<p>Another method for hiding the drives or partitions in Windows is by making changes in the Windows Registry using Registry Editor.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>To open Registry Editor, press Windows key + R and write regedit in the textbox. <\/li>\n<li>Press Enter.<\/li>\n<li>The Registry Editor window will appear as shown.<a href=\"https:\/\/ozsns.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/registry-editor.png\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Registry Editor\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/ozsns.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/registry-editor.png\" title=\"Registry Editor\"\/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/ozsns.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/registry-editor-2.png\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><br \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Now locate the HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesExplorer where you will create a new DWORD (32-bit) Value by Right Clicking in the Right Pane as Shown below in the Image<a href=\"https:\/\/ozsns.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/registry-editor-2.png\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Creating New DWORD(32 bit)\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/ozsns.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/registry-editor-2.png\" title=\"Creating New DWORD(32 bit)\"\/><\/a><\/li>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/-n7b02e8WdcY\/U6KJPH_BPUI\/AAAAAAAAAc8\/rKtbJ1SHlvk\/s1600\/registry+editor-2.png\" imageanchor=\"1\"\/><\/p>\n<li>Give a Name to the New Key i.e Hide Drives Or No Drives etc and Double Click on that a dialog box will appear.<\/li>\n<li>Now Switch to Decimal Mode and Type the Value to Hide the Specified Drive for example to Hide Drive B type 2 in the Value Field As Shown Below<\/li>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ozsns.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/registryeditor-3.png\" imageanchor=\"1\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Enter value in decimal format corresponding to a Drive\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/ozsns.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/registryeditor-3.png\" title=\"Enter value in decimal format corresponding to a Drive\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<li>For other drive letters enter the decimal value according to the following table:-A: 1    E: 16I: 256M: 4096Q: 65536U: 1048576Y: 16777216B: 2    F: 32J: 512N: 8192R: 131072V: 2097152Z: 33554432C: 4    G: 64K: 1024O: 16384S: 262144W: 4194304ALL: 67108863D: 8    H: 128L: 2048P: 32768T: 524288X: 8388608<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><b>Note:-<\/b>If you want to hide more than one drive then enter the sum of all the values of the drives int value <br \/>For Example \u2013 If you Want to Hide Drive E,F then type 48 (16+32) in the value field<\/p>\n<hr\/>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hide drive in windows 8 and 7 On 22:17 By Himanshu Nareshwindow 7, windows 8Well it is quite easy to hide a drive in windows system.You will need administrative rights to hide a drive through command prompt.
